KIWL 1000 L Four Vessel Brewhouse

Separate mash and lauter tuns

With a combined mash/lauter tun, mashing and lautering share one vessel and must run in sequence. Splitting them allows the next mash to start while the previous grist is still sparging, which is the single biggest throughput gain in the family.

Is four vessels over-specified at 1,000 L

It can be, if the brewery only brews three times a week. It makes sense when the same 1,000 L platform must supply a growing taproom and wholesale account while the building cannot take a larger kettle.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the labour requirement?

One brewer per shift once commissioning is complete, because the recipe-driven control runs the sequence.

Can it be upgraded to 2,000 L later?

The vessels cannot be enlarged, but the platform and utilities are sized for a second 2,000 L kettle to be added alongside.

What is included with the 1,000 configuration?

The supply covers the 4 (mash tun, lauter tun, kettle, whirlpool) set, interconnecting sanitary piping, the control panel and CIP routing, with Steam 0.5 t/h as specified. Cellar tanks, packaging and building works are separate scope, so the plant can be sized to your own distribution plan rather than a fixed package.
