Checkmat Compact Fill Level Inspector
A compact inline inspection unit that checks fill level, closure presence and label position after filling, so filler drift is corrected before it becomes a recall.

Fill level as a filler health signal
Fill height per valve drifts slowly as a valve wears. Because this unit records level against valve number, a rising trend on one valve shows up days before it produces an out-of-spec bottle, which turns a filler overhaul into planned maintenance instead of an unplanned stop.
Cap and label checks in the same pass
The same camera pass verifies that a cap is present, correctly oriented and not skewed, and that the label sits within tolerance. Catching a missing cap here avoids a rejected pallet at the retailer and the associated chargeback.
X-ray versus gamma
X-ray gives better accuracy on dark glass and does not need a radioactive source permit. Gamma is cheaper where a permit already exists. Both are non-contact and do not affect the product.
Typical Applications
- Bottling lines with high-speed fillers — Per-valve trend data identifies the exact valve needing service instead of stopping the whole filler.
- Breweries shipping to retail chains — Retail compliance schemes reject pallets for fill level and cap defects; inline inspection is the cheapest way to hold the tolerance.
- Lines running several bottle sizes — Recipes store format-specific limits, so changeover does not require re-teaching the inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is X-ray safe for the product?
Yes. The unit uses a low-power beam and the product is never exposed long enough to change it. The enclosure is interlocked and dose at the surface is below occupational limits.
Can it check can lines too?
Yes, with a different infeed guide. Fill level on cans uses the same measurement principle.
How is data retained?
Trend data is kept locally for 12 months and can be exported as CSV for quality records.
