Packaging Systems

End-of-line packaging matched to the filler rate, so the packer and palletiser never become the reason a line stops.

The packer sets the real line efficiency

A filler rated 12,000 BPH feeding a packer rated 10,000 BPH runs at 10,000. Because packers are often bought last and on price, they are the most common hidden bottleneck in a brewery. Sizing the packer 10 percent above the filler is the cheapest insurance on the line.

Choosing between wrap-around and tray shrink

Wrap-around cartons use less board and suit retail cases that need print. Tray and shrink is cheaper per pack and more forgiving on pack count changes, which helps breweries running mixed packs for taproom and wholesale.

Palletising and the last operator

Below 6,000 BPH manual palletising is viable. Above that the ergonomic load and the error rate on pallet patterns make a layer palletiser or a robotic cell the practical choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add a packer later?

Yes, but leave the line length and the PLC handshake in place at installation. Retrofitting into a finished line is where most downtime happens.

Does it handle cans and bottles?

Yes, with change parts. The conveyor and packer guides differ but the frame is shared.

What about label and date coding?

Coding is normally placed between the labeller and the packer, before the case is closed.
